Absolute piece of shit company... They tow your car by any means possible in the dead middle of the night, then scam you with a whopping $350+ pick up fee once you notice it's missing. I've gotten towed twice now from these incels. The first time, I had my car parked outside my apt in a snow storm. I didn't know my visitors pass had expired by a few days, and all of a sudden found my car missing at 3 am in the morning. I checked its Bluetooth location to find it at a tow lot. When I got there, they claimed to have put a ticket on my car the last two days, but I know for sure it wasn't there in the morning because I used it during the day. I don't know if it got blown away or what, but it costed $350 + tickets that I didn't even know existed. The second time, again well past midnight, my pass was visible through the windshield, but blocked behind some other passes. Instead of a ticket or a warning, it got towed (as well as a ticket), because apparently they can tow a car 30 minutes after a ticket has been on it. Absolutely ridiculous. Spent 30 minutes trying to get a hold of them, another 30 waiting outside their office, and scammed another $350.

This place preys on broke college students. They are like sharks that drive around looking for their next find. My PSU son and I were touring a rental house on West College Ave. We parked in the designated parking for the rental. We were the only car parked in the whole entire parking lot. We were looking at the rental less than 30 minutes. We come out to a Walks Tow truck lining up to tow our car away! I asked the Walks guy what he was doing. He said he was towing us for no permit. I explained we were looking at the house to possibly rent. He again said I need a permit. I was not happy and he left. My son and I get in the car to go home and realize he also put a ticket on our windshield! So within 30 minutes he ticketed us and then attempted to tow us for parking in the parking space of a rental we were viewing. I called Walks and told them I am not paying their ticket and that they deserve the awful reputation they have in our community. They really should be ashamed of themselves. DO NOT ever do business with this scam of a company.
Vultures! Horrible people! My child is a resident at the Bryn! Her sticker fell off! Only car in the parking lot, they towed after she told the Bryn her sticker went missing, told it's ok to park and this company towed her! $350 to tow it and retrieve it! God help your soul! How do these sleep at night! You towed a paying resident! Would never recommend, you are ripping off college students, be proud! Losers!
I actually downloaded yelp just to write this review. When I realized my car was towed while moving out I gave them a call. The lady was pretty nice however when the man got on the phone he then mansplained to me for like ten minutes about how they "legally" don't have to give a warning about towing the car because they "aren't the police." My car was given a ticket less than an hour after I parked and towed one hour later with no contact. Then when I showed up at the office and had to wait outside the building for a bit I had to pay 335 dollars plus the 25 dollar ticket to get the car back. I'd have to agree with the rest of the reviews. A tow company tows cars obviously, but they could do with less mansplaining and acting like I'm stupid assuming bc I'm a woman, and they could stop praying on college students. I live in the poorest building you can find and to tow my car when I barely have money in my bank account and demand hundreds of dollars is just a scam. Im obviously having a bad day because my car was towed, no need to be mean about it. if i could give zero stars i would.
Horrible management and company... they prey on college students who are inexperienced and vulnerable.. My son was taking a carpet cleaner into his apartment and had his car parked right outside his door with his four ways on to drop it off. Within 15 minutes he heard his car getting hooked up to a tow truck. He went outside to see what was going on and they hit him with a $180 bill and a $25 towing violation. Of course he's a rule follower and paid - using every bit of the money he had from his already minimal paycheck- I did mention he's in college, right? He said the driver was nice enough, but when he called the company to see if he could do anything about the bill... he said that the manager was the rudest person he ever spoke with... great way to make a buck Walks! You're a real class act, but I think you only care about the money and not your reputation. You can guarantee I'll be contacting the Attorney General's office, maybe this time instead of having you settle, they'll think twice about letting your predatory towing business stay open.
I was towed from my own residence at The Heights in State College, despite showing clear proof that I live there and had just purchased the vehicle (with valid temporary tags). I spent 45 minutes pleading with the driver, explaining my situation, showing documentation, and offering to move the car immediately. I told him the $180 fee he was demanding was all I had for groceries and medication that week -- he laughed at me. After pressuring me to pay on the spot under threat of doubling the charge, he dropped the car within seconds of payment and drove off, proving the tow could've easily been avoided. Then he handed me a $25 ticket for the same violation, meaning I was both ticketed and towed -- excessive and clearly profit-driven. I later learned that Walk's has been sued by the Pennsylvania Attorney General for these exact kinds of tactics and was forced to settle. Their Google and Yelp reviews are filled with similar stories: residents, students, and families targeted, insulted, and charged outrageous fees. They do not operate like a professional service. They operate like a predatory business profiting off fear and desperation. Avoid them at all costs if you can -- and if you're a property manager reading this, do better for your residents.
Most disrespectful people ever good luck if you car is towed here. I worked with a guy named Chuck and I was trying to figure out an issue with who had left my car there. I am a woman and he spoke to me so disrespectfully.
Absolutely terrible company! I parked on E. Calder Way near the corner of McAllister Street for a total of 3 hrs and was towed after 2 hrs. It cost me $335 to retrieve my car from Walk's Towing and it clearly seems like a scam to make money by whatever private business owns that parking lot. Terrible company that has a terrible, money grubbing scam set up with that private landowner.
